Spencer Quarry has operated near Spencer, SD, for nearly a century. The quarry primarily produced building stones when it first opened, but the product line and rate of production have changed dramatically since then. The primary products now are aggregates for concrete, asphalt, railroad ballast, and rip rap.
The present pit area is about 35 acres, and we're removing quartzite rock from 135 feet down.
The quarry has recently finished an exciting upgrade to its crushing and screening capacity with the addition of two new rock crushers, four new grizzly feeders, a three-deck screen, and 900 feet of conveyor.
Spencer Quarry offers a variety of products and can even meet special requests.
