History
Spencer Quarry has operated near Spencer, SD, for more than a century and was incorporated as Spencer Quarries Inc. in 1944. The site originally produced building stones and now has an impressive, expanded product line, including railroad ballast, aggregates for concrete and asphalt, and rip rap.
In 1992, Spencer Quarries Inc. acquired Commercial Asphalt in Mitchell, SD. Commercial Asphalt itself was established in 1968 and has greatly expanded its service area and production capacity since then with additional plant sites and portable plants.
Spencer Quarries Inc. has always been a proud contributor to community initiatives, especially those benefiting youth.
